The Glenreagh General Store built in 1912
Glenreagh the south western gateway to the Clarence Valley, is a half hour drive along the Orara Way from Grafton (in the north) and Coffs Harbour (to the south east), through the picturesque Orara Valley.  As you travel north west from Coffs you will pass through the towns of Karangi, Coramba and Nana Glen before you come across the village of Glenreagh nestled between the hills on the banks of the Orara River.   Coming from Grafton you will drive through country abundant with native flora and fauna.  A drive of great beauty and colour in late winter and spring when the wattle and wildflowers native to the area are in bloom.
Bring along a picnic and relax in Shannon Park down near the river, where there are tables and both wood and electric bbqs provided for visitors to the area.  If a picnic is not your style you can lunch at the Golden Dog Hotel or purchase something at the General Store.
Visit the museum that is open Saturday and full of Glenreagh's history.  Chat to the friendly locals, wander around and drink up the atmosphere of this quaint well kept country village.  Stay overnight (if you're towing a van or driving a camper) at the Glenreagh Recreation Grounds, which has powered sites and bathroom facilities.    Come and visit or stay we'd love to see you.
